Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 pound tender chicken (chicken tenders or cut chicken breasts)
  • 0.75 cup Panko bread crumbs For a light and airy coating
  • 0.25 cup flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder For flavor
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder For flavor
  • 1 large egg For binding
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • optional olive oil spray To enhance browning

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine Panko bread crumbs, flour, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  • In another bowl, crack the egg and whisk until fully blended.
  • Submerge each chicken tender into the egg mixture, ensuring an even coat.
  • Transfer each egg-coated chicken tender into the breading mixture, pressing to ensure they are fully coated.

Cooking

  • Arrange the coated chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  • If desired, lightly spray the tenders with olive oil to enhance browning.
  • Cook the tenders for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.

Serving

  • Once cooked, let the chicken tenders rest for a minute before serving.
  • Serve warm alongside your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For additional flavor, consider adding cayenne pepper or paprika to the breadcrumbs. You can marinate chicken in yogurt and spices for a few hours for extra tenderness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
