Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour Provides a creamy and tender texture.
  • 0.5 cups granulated sugar Elevates sweetness, allowing the apples to shine.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder Essential for creating a fluffy nature.
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adds warmth and comfort.

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 large egg (beaten) Acts as a binding agent.
  • 0.5 cups milk Adds moisture to the batter.

Filling

  • 1 cup chopped apples (peeled and cored) Adds natural sweetness and delightful flavor.

Frying

  • 1 cup oil for frying Essential for achieving golden brown fritters.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Prepare the apples by peeling and coring them. Cut into small, bite-sized chunks.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and ground cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg and mix it with the milk until thoroughly combined. Add this to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chopped apples until they are evenly distributed.
  • Heat the oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep frying pan over medium heat.

Frying

  • Carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.
  • Fry until each fritter is golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Transfer the fritters to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  • Dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar while still warm and serve.
