Assembly Ingredients

  • 2 cups Marinara sauce Brings the meatballs to life.
  • 4 hoagie rolls Hoagie rolls Soft and hearty for cradling the ingredients.
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese Provides that iconic gooey texture.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh basil To garnish, adding vibrant flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently but thoroughly.
  • Form small meatballs, roughly 1-1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cooking

  • Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
  • While the meatballs bake, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium flame.
  • Remove the meatballs from the oven, place a few into each hoagie roll, and top with marinara sauce.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the tops of each sub.
  • Return the assembled subs to the oven for another 5–7 minutes until the cheese is melty.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Don’t overmix the meat when preparing meatballs. Try using fresh herbs for better flavor.
