  • 8 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 16 oz sour cream full-fat recommended for best results
  • 1 packet taco seasoning approximately 1 oz
  • 10 oz canned diced tomatoes with green chiles well-drained
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend divided for melting goodness

Optional Garnish

  • 2 tbsp sliced green onions or cilantro for garnish

Preparation

  • In a medium mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and beat until completely smooth.
  • Add the sour cream, taco seasoning, one cup of shredded cheese, and the well-drained diced tomatoes to the bowl. Stir until evenly combined.
  • Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl and spread it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cup of shredded cheese on top and optionally garnish with green onions or cilantro.
  • Cover and chill the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors.

Notes

Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Drain the canned tomatoes thoroughly to prevent excess moisture. Adjust taco seasoning according to your spice preference. Perfect for dipping tortilla chips or veggie sticks.
