Ingredients

Crust

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs (finely crushed) Adds a sweet crunch and aromatic essence.
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter (melted) Adds moisture and flavor to the crust.

Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened) Gives the dessert a wonderful richness.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Balances the tanginess of the cream cheese.
  • 8 oz cool whip (thawed) Brings an airy texture that feels indulgent yet light.
  • 21 oz cherry pie filling Crowns the dessert with sweet-tart juiciness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine the finely crushed graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand.
  • Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish to form an even layer.
  • Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then allow it to cool completely.
  • In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Using an electric mixer, beat until smooth and creamy, without lumps.
  • Gently fold in the cool whip until fully incorporated.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled graham cracker crust.
  • Spoon the cherry pie filling over the top, spreading it out evenly.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  • Once set, slice into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider using almond flour for the crust, light cream cheese, or a sugar replacement. Garnish with additional cherries or slivered almonds for added texture.
