  • 2 cups crawfish tails (peeled and cleaned) Fresh crawfish tails are preferred, but frozen will work as well.
  • 1 cup white rice (cooked) Tender, fluffy rice will absorb the flavors of the casserole.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz) This soup binds the ingredients and adds creaminess.
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded) Sharp and gooey cheese that enriches the dish.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the crawfish tails with the cooked white rice.
  • Add the cream of mushroom soup to the mixture and stir until well coated.
  • Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until fully combined.
  • Transfer the mixture into a greased 2-quart baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle some extra cheddar cheese on top, and optionally add paprika or breadcrumbs.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, sauté onions and bell peppers before mixing with the other ingredients. For spice, add Cajun seasoning or hot sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
