  • Once melted, sprinkle in the flour, stirring constantly for about 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Add the finely chopped onion, green bell pepper, celery, and minced garlic to the roux and cook for about 5–7 minutes.
  • Gradually whisk in the low-sodium chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Stir in the crawfish tails and the Cajun seasoning, letting it simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  • Before serving, sprinkle in the chopped green onions for freshness.

Serving

  • Ladle the crawfish étouffée over a mound of cooked white rice and serve hot.

Notes
