Ingredients
  

For the Bread

  • 3 cups Dave’s Killer Bread 100% Whole Wheat Flour Creates a nutritious and flavorful base.
  • 1.25 cups warm water (about 110°F / 43°C) Activates the yeast.
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup Adds natural sweetness.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter Adds richness and moisture.
  • 1.5 tsp salt Essential for flavor balance.
  • 2.25 tsp instant yeast Key for the bread rise.
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseeds (optional) Boosts nutritional content.
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds or oats (for topping, optional) Adds crunch and visual appeal.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clean your bread maker and remove any remnants from previous baking.
  • Layer your ingredients in the bread machine starting with warm water, honey or maple syrup, olive oil, salt, flour, and then yeast.
  • If using flaxseeds or toppings, add them as directed.

Baking

  • Close the lid and set your machine to the whole wheat or basic bread setting.
  • Choose your preferred crust color, then press start.
  • Check the dough consistency about 5-10 minutes into kneading; it should be tacky but not overly sticky.
  • Adjust the consistency by adding a teaspoon of water if too dry or a sprinkle of flour if too wet.
  • Once baking is complete, allow the bread to cool on a wire rack to prevent sogginess.

Notes

Serve warm with butter, use for sandwiches, or enjoy toasted. Store homemade bread at room temperature for 3-5 days.
