Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 2 medium zucchinis, sliced thinly (about 1/8–1/4 inch)
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt, for sweating
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese, freshly grated recommended
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Black pepper or red pepper flakes, optional, to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by slicing the zucchinis into thin, even rounds, about 1/8–1/4 inch thick.
  • Lay the zucchini slices on paper towels and sprinkle both sides with salt. Allow the slices to sit for about 15–20 minutes.
  • Blot the zucchini slices dry with clean paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Cooking

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the zucchini slices with olive oil, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and any optional spices.
  • Arrange the sliced zucchini in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15–20 minutes, or until the zucchini chips are golden and crisp.
  • Remove the tray from the oven and let the chips cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For the best results, use uniform slices and don't skip the salting step. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side dish.
