Cobbler Topping

  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt Essential for balancing sweetness.
  • 0.5 cup melted butter Rich, creamy flavor enhances the dish.
  • 0.5 cup milk Dairy or non-dairy.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Peel and slice the peaches. Place in a large bowl and sprinkle with 0.25 cup of sugar. Let sit for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • In another bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well-incorporated.
  • Gradually add melted butter and milk to the dry mixture, stirring until a smooth batter forms.

Baking

  • Pour the peach mixture into a lightly greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Dollop spoonfuls of the batter over the peaches.
  • Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until the top is golden brown and has risen.
  • Allow cooling slightly before serving.
