For the Tuna

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine chopped cilantro, minced garlic, capers, lime juice, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Whisk in olive oil to create a smooth salsa.
  • Pat the tuna steaks dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over high heat with a splash of olive oil. Sear the tuna steaks for 1-2 minutes on each side for medium-rare.

Serving

  • Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a minute. Slice the steaks and serve drizzled with avocado salsa verde. Garnish with additional cilantro if desired.
