Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.

Cooking Chicken

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the seasoned chicken breasts, cooking for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.

Making Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in the soy sauce, honey, chicken broth, and lemon juice (or vinegar). Stir well and let simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Mix the cornstarch with a tablespoon of water to create a slurry and gradually add to the skillet, stirring continuously to thicken the sauce.

Coating Chicken

  • Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, coating them in the sticky sauce for an additional minute.
  • Plate your chicken and drizzle with any remaining sauce, garnishing with chopped scallions.

Notes

For best results, consider marinating your chicken breasts in the soy sauce and honey mixture for a few hours or overnight. Fresh garlic cloves are recommended for better flavor.
