Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes Tender and juicy, these pieces will soak up the rich sauce.
  • 1 lb broccoli florets (about 5 cups) Fresh and vibrant, adding a lovely crunch and a burst of green nutrition.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For sautéing, giving the dish a hint of fruity richness.
  • 1 tsp salt (divided) Enhances flavors and balances the richness of the sauce.
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper (divided) Adds warmth that deepens each bite.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping) Creates a gooey and melty crust.
  • 4 tbsp butter Brings a silky richness to the sauce.
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced) Infuses the dish with a delicious fragrance.
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream Base of our creamy sauce, delivering luxurious texture.
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened and cubed) Adds richness and creaminess to the sauce.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated is best) A nutty, sharp contrast that elevates the flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Season the chicken cubes with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, pour in the olive oil. Add the seasoned chicken and cook until golden brown and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • In another pot, bring water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for 1-2 minutes. Transfer to an ice bath immediately, then drain thoroughly.

Making the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low, whisk in the heavy cream and cubed cream cheese until smooth. Simmer gently for 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, remaining 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper.

Assembly and Baking

  • In a 9x13 inch baking dish, combine the cooked chicken and blanched broccoli.
  • Pour the alfredo sauce over the chicken and broccoli, tossing to combine evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until bubbly and the cheese is golden brown. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure chicken is cut evenly for consistent cooking. Blanch broccoli to prevent mushiness. Use freshly grated cheese for better melting.
