  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar Adds a tangy zest.

  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances overall flavors.

For the Filling

  • 1 cup imitation crab or cooked salmon, shredded The star protein.
  • 1/4 cup Kewpie mayo Makes the filling rich.
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha Adjust for desired heat.
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce Enhances flavor.

Other Ingredients

  • nori sheets, cut into squares For wrapping.
  • optional toppings: toasted sesame seeds, avocado slices, julienned cucumber, green onions, furikake For additional flavor and texture.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, fold the warm cooked sushi rice with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until coated.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and generously grease a muffin tin.

Making the Taco Shells

  • Press the sushi rice mixture into the muffin cups, shaping it into shells.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.

Preparing the Filling

  • In a separate bowl, mix shredded imitation crab or salmon with Kewpie mayo, sriracha, and soy sauce until creamy.

Assembling the Tacos

  • Once the rice shells are cool enough to handle, fill them generously with the creamy mixture.
  • Top with desired toppings and serve with nori squares for wrapping.
