  • 3-4 lb boneless beef chuck roast Well-marbled for juiciness and tenderness.
  • 1 ounce packet dry ranch seasoning mix Adds creamy, zesty flavor.
  • 1 ounce packet au jus gravy mix Enhances roast with deep, rich flavors.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Ensures silky texture.
  • 5-6 whole pepperoncini peppers Infuses tangy, slightly spicy kick.
  • 1/4 cup brine from pepperoncini jar Adds extra flavor.

Preparation

  • Place the chuck roast in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle ranch seasoning and au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.
  • Place the stick of unsalted butter on top of the seasoned roast.
  • Scatter the pepperoncini peppers around the butter and pour in the pepperoncini brine.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to LOW for 8 hours.
  • After 8 hours, shred the beef in the slow cooker using two forks and mix with the gravy before serving.

Notes

For a healthier version, swap butter for olive oil, or use a leaner cut of meat. You can add vegetables like carrots, potatoes, and onions for extra flavor.
