  • 0.5 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Provides umami goodness.

  • 1 jar chopped pimentos (4-ounce) Bright and briny flavor.

Preparation

  • Hard boil the eggs by placing them in a pot covered with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then cover and turn off the heat. Let sit for 12-14 minutes.
  • Transfer the eggs to an ice bath and cool for 5 minutes. Peel and halve the eggs lengthwise, scooping out the yolks into a mixing bowl.

Making the filling

  • Add the mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, and chopped pimentos to the yolks. Mix until creamy.
  • Taste the mixture and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Assembly

  • Fill each egg white half with the yolk mixture using a spoon or piping bag, mounding the filling for visual appeal.
  • Sprinkle with smoked paprika and garnish with green onions if using.

Notes

For added creaminess, consider adding a splash of pickle juice or a dollop of sour cream. For heat, try adding jalapeƱos or hot sauce. Use a piping bag with a star tip for decorative filling.
