Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef (or ground turkey/chicken) Ground beef offers rich flavor; ground turkey or chicken provides a lighter option.
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning Homemade optional to personalize flavor.
  • 1 can Black Beans (or pinto/refried beans) Enhances texture and adds nutritional value.
  • 1 cup Chopped Bell Peppers Adds vibrant color and sweetness.
  • 1 cup Chopped Onions Red onions for milder taste.
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese (Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack) Creates a cheesy layer that binds the ingredients.
  • 1 piece Ready-Made Pie Crust A buttery, flaky crust provides contrast in textures.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  • Drain excess grease if needed. Stir in taco seasoning according to packet instructions.
  • Mix in the chopped bell peppers and onions, allowing them to soften for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the black beans to the skillet and gently fold them into the meat mixture.
  • Roll out your ready-made pie crust and fit it into a pie dish.
  • Pour the taco filling into the prepared crust, spreading it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top of the filling.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Let the pie cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Customize the filling with corn, tomatoes, or jalapeños. Leftover taco fillings can be used, and the pie can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated.
