For the Tacos

  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas Opt for corn for gluten-free option
  • 1 cup green and purple cabbage, shredded Adds crunch and color
  • 2 limes, juiced Provides bright acidity
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced Adds creamy texture
  • 0.5 cup fresh cilantro, chopped Optional for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the salmon filets generously with salt, pepper, cumin, and paprika.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat with a splash of olive oil.

Cooking

  • Place the seasoned salmon filets in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  • Remove salmon from skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes before flaking into large pieces.
  • While salmon is cooking, prepare the tortillas by warming them in a skillet or over an open flame.

Assembly

  • In a large bowl, mix together shredded cabbage and lime juice.
  • To assemble, place flaked salmon in the center of a warmed tortilla, top with cabbage mixture and avocado slices. Add cilantro if desired.
  • Serve immediately with extra lime wedges.

Notes

Consider marinating the salmon in lime juice and spices for 30 minutes before cooking for extra flavor. You can substitute salmon with grilled shrimp or chicken for variations.
